The hotel had a charming and elegant decor, with beautiful artwork and vintage furniture that reminded me of my younger days. The common areas were spacious and well-maintained, making it easy for me to navigate with my walker. The staff was also very attentive and made sure I felt comfortable and safe during my stay.
I would have appreciated if the hotel had offered more senior-friendly activities or services. While the staff was kind and courteous, it would have been nice to see more programs specifically tailored to the needs and interests of older guests.

The one bedroom unit had everything we needed- sky tv, washing machine and good heating! Located on the ground floor by the pool easy access out onto the street and the middle of Paihia.
The third night was a bit pricey! Being on the ground floor there was no view and for the money you expect a bit more. With it being winter the pool was not used much, in the summer these lower apartments would not be very private or quiet!

The suite we stayed in at The Waterfront Suites - Heritage Collection was absolutely stunning. The modern furnishings and well-equipped kitchen made us feel right at home. Plus, having two king beds and two bathrooms was a major bonus!
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the underground carpark at the hotel. However, I understand that some guests may still find it convenient.

We used The Waterfront Suite as a base to explore the Bay of Islands. We went on a boat cruise around the Islands. We drove our car across to the other coast in a round trip that included a car ferry ride. We took the car ferry across to Russell from Pahia and spent the day in Russell exploring and having lunch at the Duke of Marlborough Hotel.
The Waterfront Suites were a little disappointing, although everything had thought of, the bed was very hard, the unit was serviced but it was just a quick go through, the bed was not properly made, cushions were not put back on. We had a gale come through one night and a blackout, there was no provision in a all electric unit for this. No candles, torches etc. The unit was access by card to go in, and press button to go out and these did not work. Our entry was straight onto the pool and the access by card was necessary for safety pool reasons, but very dangerous in a blackout as nothing worked.

The two-bedroom premium suite we stayed in had an amazing view from its private balcony. It felt like a luxury retreat, perfect for relaxing with the family. The fully equipped kitchen in our apartment was a game-changer. Being able to cook our own meals saved us money and made us feel at home. The spaciousness of the one-bedroom suite we had was impressive. It had all the modern furnishings and kitchen equipment we could ask for.
Personally, I found the underground carpark a bit cramped. But hey, that's just my opinion!

Great location and facilities
Great place. Only one small thing against - aircon unit on roof above our bedroom went all one night with audible hum in the room. Unit would be better located over a kitchen rather than a bedroom. Only went one night as place was largely empty.

This hotel met all of my luxurious needs. The room was well-equipped with exclusive amenities and beautifully presented on arrival. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing excellent service. The location was perfect with stunning views of the water and easy access to nearby restaurants and cafes.
The only minor issue I had was with the curtains at the door of the suite. It was slightly difficult to close them properly, but this didn't detract from my overall experience.

The completeness of the suites, fantastic facilities in the room...great decor, the 'welcome note' when I arrived provided a personal touch and then to receive a sweet treat blew me away. The staff were friendly, easy going and very helpful.
The parking sign out front of the hotel was too small to see when driving past, perhaps making it bigger would aid visitors...also the numbers on each suite were hard to find.

I had a fantastic stay at The Waterfront Suites - Heritage Collection. The location was absolutely fabulous, with beautiful views over the water. The apartment was well-appointed and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff on reception were extremely helpful and accommodating. They even upgraded my room, which was a lovely surprise. The underground car park was a bonus, and the elevators made it easy to transport my luggage. I highly recommend this hotel.

Staying in the heart of a town is a perk, being right in the centre of town, so close to shops and entertainment, is truly a delight. At this mid-range hotel, the bed is comfortable, and the staff is helpful. With balconies in every room, the view of the harbor and islands is serene.
The hotel may need better maintenance.
